Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II): Description and Impact
April 6, 2011, New York City
MiFID II is not just European Regulation; it will have major global implications. Trading in securities is no longer a purely domestic matter, and regulations and market structure changes in Europe will impact firms with a global footprint. This event highlights the critical issues raised in MiFID II, focusing on Dark Pool Liquidity, Pre- and Post-Trade Transparency, Transaction Reporting and Consolidated Tape for Europe. MiFID II's impact on Algorithmic and High Frequency Trading will be examined as well as whether proposed rules enable competitive, transparent and efficient markets, and encourage liquidity and price discovery.
